Sarasin & Partners, the global thematic investment manager with £12.9bn invested on behalf of charities, private clients and institutions, has bolstered its global equity and multi-asset solutions through a series of appointments.
Sarasin’s global thematic approach to investing, which has underpinned the group’s equity selection since 1996, aims to capitalise on long-term secular megatrends shaping the global economy – notably ageing, digitalisation, automation, evolving consumption and climate change. Responsible stewardship is also integrated into the Sarasin investment process and core stewardship principles are applied through an active approach to corporate engagement and policy outreach.
Alex Bibani has been appointed co-manager of the Sarasin Responsible Global Equity fund and deputy manager for JSS Sustainable Equity – Global Thematic. Bibani has been deputy manager of the Responsible Global Equity fund since 2017 and works closely with existing equity and stewardship analysts.
In addition, Giles Money has been appointed deputy fund manager on the Sarasin Responsible Global Equity and Sarasin Thematic Global Equity funds. Money has been the lead portfolio manager for the JSS Sustainable Equity – Global Thematic strategy since 2016 and has portfolio management responsibilities across the global thematic fund range.
Jerry Thomas remains manager of the Sarasin Responsible Global Equity fund and lead manager on the Sarasin Global Thematic Equity fund.
Meanwhile, Megan Brennan has been appointed deputy fund manager on the Sarasin IE Multi Asset Target Return Fund. Guy Monson remains on the fund as lead manager. Brennan joined Sarasin in 2017 as an investment manager and has been responsible for the management of a number of multi-asset private client portfolios.
Jerry Thomas, head of global equities at Sarasin & Partners, says: “Recent market turmoil demonstrates the importance of investing in secular long-term drivers of performance, which are largely immune to short-term market dislocation.
“Alex, Giles and Megan have been following this approach to investing for several years at Sarasin & Partners. These appointments will reinforce the rigour of our investment process and bolster our global equity and multi-asset products, which should reassure investors in volatile markets.”
